What’s one thing you’ve found yourself doing as a parent that you swore you’d never do?
Honestly, nothing. Before I became a mother there were things I knew I wanted to work toward, like breastfeeding and fostering independence in my son, but I tried not to enter into this new role with super rigid ideas of what it would or would not be like. We do what works for us.
As mother, lover, housekeeper and CEO you spend most of your day in service to others. So what does Kate Marie - the woman behind these roles - do for pure joy? How do you fill your cup?
Well, I have to point out that while I certainly do my share, everyone in our family helps care for our home so housekeeper is one role I don’t fill. As a wife, mother and #startupmom CEO there is an endless amount of work and responsibility that I try to take in some sort of balance and stride. But for myself, I schedule one unbreakable hour every weekday morning to invest in my body and recharge at the gym and I take 20 minutes before bed each night to read a book and wind down my day.
Hindsight is a gift. If the woman you are today could share one piece of advice on being a #startupmom with pre-baby-Kate Marie, what would it be?
