Willow Magazine CREATING LIFE - Page 67

Tell us about your little Angel!

Oh my, Sienna Joy is such a cherub; her smile touches hearts.

Her face is very expressive and she can move her eyebrows independently. She's quite the character and has captured all of our hearts.

People say she's a perfect physical mixture of her dad and I. He's from New Zealand and of European descent. I was born in Bermuda and raised in America. My ancestry is Afro-Caribbean.

Her eyes are reflective of my husband's snug, wide eyes.

She loves to move her body.; like her mama, she loves to dance.

We feel that she is very happy to be here - earth - and is eager to fully inhabit her body and her full physical faculties.

She is an old soul. She is a student of life and nature with great concentration and wonder.

We are very grateful for her choosing to be with us.

Your family in three words...

What's your secret weapon for juggling new-motherhood with business?

Maximizing the short bursts of time that arise, by focusing on completing tasks. I.e. - I minimize "faffing"

Doing my best each day to be self-loving by releasing attachment to what didn't get done that day

I'm getting better at this one

A day in the life of Jocelyn looks likeā€¦

Up near 530am for some quiet "me" time. I'm doing my best to remember my dreams, so this time lately includes dream journaling. I also sit or recline for meditation and or pick from one of my oracle card decks.

Between 6 and 7am, Sienna and I take a shower. She receives a massage and I anoint myself with my doTERRA oils (www.mydoterra.com/jocelyngordon).

We then go downstairs to help my 15 year amazing daughter get ready for school. I make a smoothie for both of us while Sienna hangs out with her big sister, Jordan.

My focused, inspired energy is in the morning, so I do my best to schedule meetings and write/respond to emails by/before 11am.

My husband, Sienna and I often take a midday nap/rest together. For lunch, we enjoy a vegetarian meal at home or take a journey to town.

The rest of the day, I hang out with Sienna and take care of some social media/computer work when she's sleeping or with her dad.

Jordan comes home and "the girls" hang out for a bit. We have "family dinner time" a few nights a week.

Two days a week I usually receive Reflexology. Having the feet massaged affects the whole body and I can also receive whilst holding Sienna.

I've been doing my best to go to sleep when Sienna goes to sleep for the night. I have to watch my evening energy because if I stay up past 930, I'll often stay up past 12am.

This is when it is healthful to accept and release what didn't get done that day.

You donate a portion of your profits to Bumi Sehat Foundation (a natural birthing clinic in Indonesia). What inspired your policy to give back?

I'm inspired and observant by giving. Ibu Robin and her organization, wwwbumisehatfoundation.org, give so freely and help thousands of women and families.

So many lives are affected by Bumi Sehat - the pregnant and new mom, the babies, the community - are all affected by the loving intention for safe, natural birth. Each baby that enters the world peacefully, helps to create a more peaceful human family.

I asked a midwife at the Bali center what the clinic costs were to cover the prenatal, birth and postpartum care for one Indonesian woman. Just $75 covers these holistic services. It felt right and good to donate $75 from each HoopYogini Online Teacher Training enrollment to Bumi Sehat.

Enrollment for the next HoopYogini Online Teacher Training opens in September 2016. Sign up to our newsletter to receive announcements.

One pearl of wisdom you'd share with a budding #startupmomā€¦

Don't try to do it all. Recognize your realm of genius - know what you do well and do it! Find others to assist you in executing the tasks outside your personal realm of genius.

What does Jocelyn do for pure joy...how do you fill your cup?

Dancing, dancing, dancing and getting massages <3
