Christina Beason has been involved in 4-H since she was a young girl. She enrolled her own children in 4-H as soon as they were old enough to join. She has stayed involved in 4-H by becoming a community club leader along with being a leader for various projects over the years, eventually becoming a Labette County Extension Board member and a 4-H PDC member.

Currently she is the Sunflower 4-H Club leader and the Wildcat Extension District Coach for the Horticulture/Crops Team. Teaching youngsters about different plants is a passion of Christina’s. Her enthusiasm is contagious to the young 4-H members as they learn about different plants and how to recognize them. Those who participate in the horticulture practices and contests don’t usually miss the sessions she sets up so they can learn more. This year the Senior Horticulture Team took 1st place at the state competition and will go on to nationals in St. Louis. Christina puts in many hours to help them learn about plants. She is encouraging and patient enough to help each individual do the best they can.

Christina is willing to help out wherever she can and loves working with the youth. Her insight and perspective is also well received in the 4-H Program Development Committee (PDC) meetings.

We are very blessed to have Christina as a part of the WED team! Thank you Christina for all you do for our youth!
