ctober was full of Wildcat District judging teams have great successes at the National level. It was also fun to watch our 4-H youth compete as FFA members at National FFA convention, where they brought home several honors again! It’s always great to see our youth traveling and getting new experiences. They bring back a wealth of knowledge and grow as young adults on these trips. They encourage our other youth to become more active and our program thrives. I attended the Wildcat Educational Foundation meeting to answer any questions about our traveling teams this past month. Then it was off to Annual Conference for a week of learning! At Annual Conference this year, I attended workshops on diversity, shooting sports, professional development, food waste, KAE4-HA annual meeting and more!

October is also crunch time for our county annual achievement banquet! This year we judged Crawford County’s record books. It is nice to exchange books with other counties to see what ideas or projects their youth are doing. For banquet there is food, cake, medals, plaques, and volunteers to organize. Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce is a great supporter of our banquet!

November is time to celebrate our past 4-H year. Our annual achievement banquet is November 8, 2018 in Coffeyville. Our banquet has great attendance with 150 people registered. Thanks to the generous support of local sponsors youth who submit their record book get a free meal! I am also attending several club meetings and our county shooting sports orientation in November to help with online enrollment. November 19th I will be holding a butter making workshop in coordination with Coffeyville Public Library. We will be trying our butter on different types of bread and learning the difference between wheat, whole, and enriched grain breads. All Wildcat agents will also be working on the state-wide project page committee. This was something the Wildcat 4-H PDC tasks us with and we are working to achieve this by providing input to the state committee.
