ith the arrival of spring also came the opportunity for youth to learn and have new experiences. April started off with presenting at Girard Library Ag. Day. Youth had to opportunity to learn about all the wonderful 4-H projects as well as highlighting some great STEM related projects Geology and entomology. These projects allow you to discover and learn about the world around them.

Ag. Day was followed up with STEM Camp! STEM camp was a great success. Youth had the opportunity to learn about rocketry as well as embroidery and design. Participants worked in groups to build a rocket that they would then launch! Youth would then use computer software to design and a logo that would be embroidered to create a monogrammed towel. These hands on experiences allow youth to learn using innovative technology.

Spring is a busy time with other activities. There are many judging contest, shows, and clinics. This is the time for you to be signing up for some of the great summer camps and activities. And now is the time to be putting the final touches on the many 4-H projects to exhibit at the fair.

Spring also includes professional development opportunities. The spring Kansas Association of 4-H Extension Agents conference took place in Garden City. This was a great opportunity to learn and get great ideas from other 4-H Agents from across the state.
