pril 3 - Pasture Managment and Brush Control Meeting -

Girard High School Cafeteria.

I presented on managing grazing to reduce weed problems. Dr. Doug Shoup our SE Area Agronomist presented on brush control. We had about 25 producers there. Excellent presentations and discussion. Surveys were very positive.

April 11 - Women in Ag Meeting, Parsons.

I gave a presentation on leasing and fence law. Survey's were positive and we had good discussion. A front page article from the Parsons Sun was also written on my presentation.

April 17 - Sheep and Goat Meeting, Parsons

We had 36 producers sign up. Participants were from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Dale Lanham, began the meeting with a discussion on predator control. Dr. Joan Burke a USDA Research Scientist from the Booneville, Arkansas presented on managing parasites and parasite resistance. Her presentation was given online through zoom. I have mailed out about 10 copies of her handout since the meeting. The meeting ended up with a panel discussion by Dale Lanham, Woodson County Sheep Auction and Todd Schubert of Schubert Livestock about ways to market your sheep and goats more effectively. Survey information is attached. Jeri and I worked together on this meeting and we plan to host another session this fall.

Our 4-H livestock judging teams participated in 3 contests. Over 20 different 4-h members attended at least one of the contest. I took primarily Jr and Intermediate members since, in most cases the Srs judged on their FFA teams.

March 31 - NEO 12 members attended. 1st Place Sr team, Dalton Flatt, 1st place individual.

April 5 - Allen County, 8 members attended. 2nd place Jr team

April 6, Fort Scott, 12 members attended, 5th place Jr team, 8th place intermediate team.

I also made several farm visits and soil test recommendations in addition to my normal duties.
