he past month has brought about some exciting new experiences and learning opportunities. I have spent some time in Shawnee County with my mentor expanding my knowledge of 4-H programs and community outreach. I have utilized new knowledge I have gained by spending time going into local schools in Crawford County providing information about the many opportunities for youth through STEM 4-H Youth Development.

Exciting things are happing with 4-H youth in Crawford County. There is a growing number of participants in the Foods project meeting. We are fortunate to have Margaret Phillips as a foods project leader in Crawford County; youth are enjoying learning through our foods project.

The Junior Leaders in the process of planning their upcoming pancake and sausage feed fundraiser. This has been promoted through Facebook and KOAM-TV’s Wildcat Wednesdays. I am working with Mandy to boost the post on Facebook for the pancake feed to test its efficiency in educating people about our events.

February was also a month for 4-H Club Days with youth participating in a wide variety of demonstrations, talks, speeches, skits, presentations, and talents. I am pleased with the turnout for this year’s event. My goal is to continue increasing participation in all events.

As we get closer those busy summer months, we are gearing up for fair and summer camps has already begun. The preparation and planning for summer camps is under way. I have also started work in preparation for the fair. I am looking forward to increasing my knowledge and experience to better serve, educate, and provide programs for youth.
