Of the 55 responses over half indicated interest in late May tour. However, due to conflicts with 4-H Discovery Days in Manhattan at the end of May the tour will likely be scheduled in early June. We will continue to work on the details of this program idea over the next several weeks.

George Nettles Master Gardener project: Nancy Scott is working with George Nettles principal Diane Jackson to enhance the school’s public view with the planting and maintenance of the flower beds at the main entrance. Current plans are to cleanup existing beds and fill them with pansies this spring. Two other Pittsburg Master Gardeners will, Larry Dunekack and Ken Bateman, will assist Nancy with this project. This activity will also involve the school’s STEM class to enhance their afterschool experience

Other activities: Wednesday morning radio shows on KGGF 690 AM (4 for the month) discussing current horticultural topics.
