Tim Pearson is a Shooting Sports Club leader in K-State Research and Extension, Wildcat District. Tim has been involved with shooting sports for six years. He is always there to help youth learn, but encourages them to have fun as well. He finds ways to make each practice interesting and challenging in order for youth to leave excited to come back for the next one.
Teaching “safety first”, he is willing to work on an individual basis with each child if needed. The club has not been going for very long but Tim has been the one who brings ideas for fun shoots, a reward for all the hard practices they have. He keeps the equipment in good working order and makes sure everything is set up for practices then stored properly afterward.
Expanding the program by having fund raisers to get more equipment and a cargo trailer to store all of it in has helped make it easier to keep everything together and safe. More pellet or BB guns means more youth can participate! He has also had the club participate in a state qualifying shoot for the past two years and strongly supports them, and as a result we have had two youth go to state and do well.
