4-H Youth Development

Sewing lessons and let's play

leadership kicks off!

his month has been professional development. Annual Conference took place in Manhattan and National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4HA) was held in Indianapolis, IN. I received the Achievement in Service Award (ASA) at the national conference.

I did attend some great workshops and have made connections with other extension agents across the country. They are doing some programs that will be beneficial for our youth here as well and I am excited to start planning to get them going.

Let’s Play Leadership continues to be a welcome program among the students and teachers. This month’s focus was on verbal communication and what that encompasses. The activity is very similar to the game of telephone, but we discuss how easy it is to get misinformation and still share it, why it should not be shared, and that is ok to share positive encouraging things.
