Carl and Nancy Hamilton are at the center of our volunteer spotlight this month. Nancy and Carl Hamilton become 4-H volunteers in 1965 and have been supporting the Montgomery County 4-H program ever since! They raised their children in the Cherry Cherokee’s 4-H Club in Montgomery County.

The club has since disbanded but that hasn’t stopped Nancy and Carl from supporting the 4-H program. The couple was sheep project leaders and assisted many youth getting started in the project. Today, the couple continues to support the sheep project by donating sheep plaques for the Montgomery County 4-H Fair.

Nancy has been instrumental in organizing and teaching the Spring Break Sewing Camp in Montgomery County for many years. She combines her knowledge of sheep and sewing to teach youth about the benefits of using sheep wool in pin cushions. Nancy donates her own supplies and sewing machines to make sewing camp happen! She patiently helps youth make countless pillowcases and outfits to showcase at the fair.

Carl continues to help judge 4-H events and offers advice to youth during public speaking events at county club days. We appreciate the support of the Hamilton Family and their dedication to helping the Montgomery County 4-H program prosper.
