A very special welcome to Lisa Kuszak, who will serve as Family & Consumer Sciences Office Professional in our Independence Office. Lisa comes to us with fantastic office management skills, and we are so excited she is part of the Wildcat District Team! Lisa's first day in the Independence office will be April 3. Please stop by and extend her a warm welcome if you are in the area!

Connections are extremely important to those of us within K-State Research and Extension. We connect with our communities and the people who live, work, play, and thrive within those communities. We also help make connections between residents and much-needed resources. Please take a close look at all of the wonderful events happening within the Wildcat District. From Small Business: Big Ideas, Living on the Land and Keys to Embracing Aging to Women in Agriculture, Pasture Management, and Sheep & Goat Management - we literally have something for everyone! Please RSVP to reserve your seats today!

To help connect people to their food sources, and have a better understanding of the safe food systems within our region, we are partnering with Kansas Farm Bureau and faculty from Southwind District to host a regional food tour. Jeri Geren and I have attended an introductory meeting with partners and will be sharing more about our role in this exciting event soon.

To be able to better connect our communities to much-needed resources, I recently attended an Economic Development Roundtable Discussion spearheaded by Project 17. This has helped me make valuable connections with several experts in our community. More information coming soon about some exciting projects in community planning and economic development. I am collaborating with new partners and am excited to watch projects organically grow within our district.

Connections are also important within the district. Kylie Ludwig and I will continue to partner to bring more sessions in our Small Business: Big Ideas workshop series. Contact either Kylie or myself for more information.
