This is the number of species at risk as identified by the MNRF program in the 10 regions which encompass the northern Ontario region. These species include birds, animals, fish, insects, plants, lichens, snakes, lizards, amphibians and turtles. Some of these include the Eastern Meadowlark, Rusty-patched Bumblebee, wolverine, Golden eagle, Pitcher’s Thistle, polar bear, Western Silvery Aster and Mississauga rattlesnake. Types of wetlands recognized in Ontario by the MNRF. They are bogs and fens, marshes and swamps. These wetlands prevent flood damage, improve water quality, and give wildlife a habitat and homes.

The Williams Wabler puts on the party hat to celebrate the century mark. This lure, which has been produced in Canada since 1923, and solely produced in the country since 1978, is an institution in almost every tackle box from young to old. It has consistently caught fish of all species.

This fishing company has been around since 1936. Chances are if you have ever fished, at some point you tried a Rapala - and caught fish! This company’s floating and jointed Rapala baits are mainstays in many tackle boxes and bags. The company is running a contest until Dec. 1, 2016.
