as a fly tier, to create new patterns to try. He is also very personable. If you’re not sharing a story with him, you’re probably sharing a beer with him.”

Currie has carved out a sweet life in northern Ontario. It is rare when he is not on the go doing something for his family or business or fly fishing. He gives joy to a lot of lives with his character and charms.

“He is nicknamed by his friends as 'Cactus Ass' because he can never sit still, which holds true nearly every day,” Kelly said. “Life with Scott is an adventure. He brings excitement and fun to our lives. He is always dreaming of new ideas and ways he can improve Flymart.ca. and has great ambitions for life. He is a passionate person and is always thriving to do better. He is a tough guy with a tender heart who is always up for a laugh.”

Currie is also an ambassador for the sport. He wants to see more people involved in fly fishing. Not so much for his business, but to see the payoff on the faces of people when they start the sport and get hooked.

Currie plans on doing videos to help show how fly fishing isn’t an impossible challenge. He says anyone can do it as long as they pick up a fly rod and try - with some pointers from someone who has done it before.

“Fly fishing is my passion to a fault,” Currie said. “What makes it worthwhile is introducing it to people and seeing them take it up, especially younger anglers. It’s just fun. There’s nothing else like it. It feels good to do this, but more has to be done to promote fly fishing in the North.”
