Working part-time in a local restaurant is what first attracted me to a career in Hospitality. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have been given lots of opportunities to learn more. My skills have improved immensely, from communication and team working, to being able to study and manage my time better. These are important skills in this industry, and I have been given the chance to test these in the workplace, thanks to a placement at the Dumfries Arms Hotel in Cumnock. It was a great learning experience. Thanks to this course, and the lecturers support, I have been accepted into third year at university. Zoe has shown great commitment to her course and completed assessments to a high standard, meeting deadlines, and developing her essential employability skills. She works at a local hotel where she has been given a responsible role which further demonstrates her commitment to making her career in the hospitality industry. Lecturer Getting the chance to go on a scholarship to Switzerland was a dream come true. Seeing first class hospitality in operation was eye-opening, and yet it reinforced what I had learned at college, and what a good job the teaching teams do to prepare you for life in the workplace.
