Working part-time in a local
restaurant is what first attracted
me to a career in Hospitality.
It has been one of the best
decisions I have ever made.
I have been given lots of
opportunities to learn more. My
skills have improved immensely,
from communication and team
working, to being able to study
and manage my time better.
These are important skills in
this industry, and I have been
given the chance to test these
in the workplace, thanks to a
placement at the Dumfries Arms
Hotel in Cumnock. It was a great
learning experience. Thanks to
this course, and the lecturers
support, I have been accepted
into third year at university.
Zoe has shown great
commitment to her course and
completed assessments to a high
standard, meeting deadlines,
and developing her essential
employability skills. She works
at a local hotel where she has
been given a responsible role
which further demonstrates
her commitment to making her
career in the hospitality industry.

Getting the chance to go on a
scholarship to Switzerland was
a dream come true. Seeing first
class hospitality in operation
was eye-opening, and yet it
reinforced what I had learned
at college, and what a good
job the teaching teams do
to prepare you for life in the
workplace.
