What's New At Witter

The Rafters are proud to be a part of the Wisconsin Rapids community and strive to enhance the fan experience at Witter Field each season. This year fans will notice a few key updates to various areas of the stadium.

Last fall, the infield playing surface at Witter Field was regraded and re-sodded. Well regarded turf management expert Craig Schlender, who owns Ball Diamond Fine Sports Turf, LLC out of Baraboo, Wis., was the point man on the project. With multiple user groups coming together-- Lincoln High School, Assumption High School, American Legion program, City of Wisconsin Rapids, & the Rafters—the long-discussed project became a reality and should greatly help with, not only providing a better playing surface for all players, but also field maintenance.

Something that will probably go unnoticed by most fans, but will greatly benefit the in-game experience, is the installation of 14 new speakers on the back side of the grandstand and the third base courtyard. TFG Audio Visual Solutions, which has also provided the sound system for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, installed the new speakers earlier this spring.
