Within half a mile of home, you’ll find the pretty village of Long Buckby where the weekly village market offers the chance to buy locally produced cakes, preserves, eggs, craftwork, plants and garden products. The village also has a medley of shops catering for everything you might need. These include a pharmacy, supermarkets, newsagents, post office, butchers, florists, jewellers and four hairdressers.
If you like to be active, you won’t be disappointed. There are oodles of things to do close to home for all the family. If sport is your thing, Long Buckby boasts cricket, football, tennis, hockey, netball and rugby teams. There are a number of community groups, a Scout group and Brownie pack for the children. There are also activities such as archery, bowls and a gardening club giving everyone the chance to get involved.
Schools
Long Buckby has infant and junior schools on separate sites. Secondary pupils are transported six miles to Guilsborough and there are other secondary schools in Daventry.
