Reel Canada : national Canadian Film day What ’ s your favourite Canadian film ? National Canadian Film Day ( April 19 , 2017 ), a one-day national film festival , should help provide the answer . Six hundred to 800 screenings will be hosted by local partners — including libraries to museums to community centres — from Fort McMurray to St . SeSQUi SESQUI , a multimedia festival scheduled to travel across the country in 2017 , will give Canadians a chance to view their country ’ s stunning landscapes in a way they never have before . The event , housed in a series of domes , will treat visitors to live events , interactive programming and virtual reality . The culmination is a cutting-edge 360-degree viewing of Horizon , the festival ’ s showpiece film , which aims to capture every corner of the Canadian experience , from fishing off Fogo Island to walking tulip fields in P . the WalRUS talkS : ConveRSationS aboUt Canada The Walrus speaker series will see some of the country ’ s fiercest leaders take on the question of how we can make Canada a better place . The series will consist of 13 talks across 13 weeks — one in each province and territory — exploring themes ranging from reconciliation to intergenerational conversation , arts and culture to business and tech , and health care to the environment .
