Letter from the Editor

Happy Summer!
I trust you are enjoying the long hours of daylight, I know I am.
I seem to be much more productive in the summer. I think it’s that whole body
clock thing. When it’s still light at 9:00 p.m. my mind thinks it should be busy!
The challenge is getting my body on board. In my younger days, I could paint
into the wee hours of the morning, sleep a few hours and begin anew. That is no
longer the case, and now more than ever l’m trying to practice the concept “pay
yourself first”.
I find I need to paint as early in the day as possible, before the stresses of the day
zap my energy, both creatively and physically. In my coaching practice, I find
many artists are struggling with maintaining their creative exuberance, and my
very first piece of guidance is now “Pay Yourself First”!
