How often do you paint? How many hours a week?
Marketing and administrative work takes some time each of the week day mornings. Afterward, I
paint or draw on a average of 3 to 8 hours per day. Taking some time out for exercise is
important to me.
How would you like to be remembered?
If I were to be remembered I would like it said that I used the gift that was given to me by God
both for my own pleasure and for the pleasure of others.
How do you know when a painting is finished?
There are paintings that never seem finished. That is when I know I didn’t plan well or that I
didn’t take time to step back while going through the process of making decisions. When I have
gotten the essence of the subject matter value, color, and a pleasing composition, I feel that the
painting is finished.
Do you have a favorite painting that you have collected by another artist?
There is a small oil painting of a street scene I purchased from a local artist which is a wonderful
learning tool for areas of my work I am interested in improving.
What is the most inspirational place you have visited to date?
Monet’s Giverny is an unforgettable place for an artist to visit. Being able to enter his home and
walk about the gardens where Monet did plein air painting was a thrill for me.
Where would you take your dream vacation?
I am torn between my dream vacation being a summer in the French countryside or late summer
to autumn at an Italian villa.
What brings you the most joy in your life?
On the weekends, I look forward to spending time with friends, out to dinner with a good glass of
chardonnay. The occasions where I am with family members are always happy times for me.
Tell us something that few people know about you.
Public speaking gives me the willies!
