EXPOSED
I’m a photographer/artist based on a beautiful
Central Coast of NSW, Australia. I originally trained
in Early Childhood Education, but came to photography
in 2005, and I am principally self-taught.
I’ve been always interested in the arts and after
I’d purchased my first digital camera I discovered
that photography is not only about portraits, wedding
shoots and sunsets, it’s so much more...It’s about
telling a story and creating something extraordinary
with an ordinary tool.
Nature is my biggest inspiration, especially
abstract qualities within nature. I love
experimenting with light, colour, texture and
different filters to
create and achieve something
beautiful and dreamy. I also enjoy conceptual
photography, mainly the creative aspect of it.
When I go out photographing I don’t usually have a
concept as such. I sort of have an idea of what I
want to do, but quite often something else catches my
attention, like flowers or weeds catching the
afternoon light or very interesting reflections in a
puddle on the street.
I get a lot of questions about camera equipment I
use. Well, I am a Canon SLR and Canon lens user but
I have a message to all the young photographers out
there...
