Where ART Lives Magazine Volume 3 Number 1 | Page 81

In what town and state is your art studio located ? My studio is located in Denver , in a boarding house built in 1906 that has been converted to 13 artist studios .
I have a gallery there as well that adjoins my studio .
What is your favorite part about your studio ? I love having a place to work without interruption . My studio connects to my gallery so it ’ s nice to be able to take a break from painting , have a cup of tea and be inspired by my collection of completed work .
Would you call your studio messy or neat ? I consider my studio to be perfect !
It ’ s messy where it needs to be and is at the same time a source of renewal .
My style of painting , as an impasto palette knife painter requires me to use a lot of paint without consequence .
What do you do to set the creative mood in your studio before you begin creating art ? I turn up the jazz and sometimes opera-the arias . I like to burn sandalwood incense , it has a calming affect and helps me to focus .
