Juli A. Koroly Do you have a favorite color palette? I prefer working with colors within an analogous range and using the complement of one of these as the accent. An example of this is the orange/yellow/red range with blue as the accent. This affords me a myriad of combinations to choose from. What subject appears the most in your paintings and why? I consider the subjects of my work eclectic. I find magic in the faces of both humans and animals alike. In all that I do I am emphasizing a quality in my subject that I want to highlight in some way. At the moment I am concentrating on a series on Crosses and the Southwest. How often do you paint? How many hours a week? I spend about three to five hours a day . I prefer early morning and late afternoon because they coincide with my energy levels. How would you like to be remembered? I want to be remembered as generous in spirit in life, as well as in my art. I have always shared my product as well as process by teaching and gifting my work. What are you most proud of in your life? My family. Any other thoughts to share? I believe that the most important facet of art for me is the ability to share it with others. I love knowing that I have communicated emotion with the “marks” I make on a surface. For me this is nothing short of magic!! www.julikoroly.faso.com 26
