Letter from Executive director

Message from the Executive Director, Shannon Carter

Welcome to the May edition of Wheel World News! As you all know, with the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in the United States, we have all had to do our part and practice social distancing. Even though we aren't in our office everyday, we are still here for you! We know during these difficult times, isolation and loneliness are very prevalent. If you are in need of help, resources, or just want someone to talk to, call our line at 602-507-4209.

This month, our Spotlight Story is about our Spring 2020 Advanced Wheelchair Skills Classes that will be all virtual via Zoom. These FREE classes will take place on every Thursday throughout the month of May! Visit pages 3-4 for more information. We hope to see you there!

Be sure to keep an eye on our social media to stay up-to-date on all of the events we had panned for the spring/summer. With multiple events being postponed, social media is the best place to keep up with all the changes being made. We thank you for your patience and understanding through this uncertain times.

Be sure to check out the "Consumer Corner" segment this month where we highlighted Nicholas Pelland. Read his empowering story on pages 9-10.
