Letter from Executive director

Message from the Executive Director, Shannon Carter

Welcome to the February edition of Wheel World News! I hope everyone has had a great start to their year so far. I can't believe how fast January flew by!

This month, our Spotlight Story is about our 5th Annual Push Forward Conference; an all-day interactive conference for individuals living with SCI, their family members, caregivers, and professionals. We have so many new class sessions this year that we are so excited for! There will be classes such as Expressive Arts, Accessible Travel, Mindfulness and Mental Fitness, Intimacy & Dating, and much more. We also have over 30 vendors from around Arizona that will be attending. Push Forward is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn about the different resources that are available to you, and get inspired! To read more about the conference, please visit pages 3-4. We really hope you'll join us!

As always, there's plenty of social outreach events going on within the community this February. Read all about the upcoming events going on this month, including Exploring Arizona - Adaptive Hiking Series, in the Current Events section on pages 7-8. This month in the "Consumer Corner" segment, we interviewed Brittany Johnson. Be sure to read her empowering story on
