My name is Sheila Pitt. I am a Professor of Art at the University of Arizona in Tucson and an exhibiting Printmaker Artist all over the world. It was 2008, towards the end of my career (so I thought) and I was thinking about retiring to enjoy my horses, my garden, traveling, my friends and most of all my family. I was 68 years old, in perfect health and an avid equestrian for over 40 years. On February 2, 2008 I was at the Santa Rita stables in Tucson, where I boarded my show horse. I mounted my horse to ride and we went for a walk. On my horse, we walked up to the riding arena on the recently groomed arena grounds.
