Each time I visit an island, I try to find different things about the island that I can share with people. I have created a bucket list of different countries that I plan to visit and I am excited about all my new adventures.

I currently own my own Social Security Consulting Company where I educate those who are uninformed when it comes to applying for disability and knowing what to do to maintain their benefits. I also educate individuals with disability on the process so that they understand how work and different life situations affect their benefits. I serve on the core team from church where I help organize our Annual Community Baby Shower, where we are able to give new mothers items that they need for their newborn babies. I also conduct workshops and open discussions on different topics pertaining to Social Security benefits.

In my years working for the government, I was able to meet several people that were new to spinal cord injury and some people that have had their spinal cord injury for years. I found that I was able to comfort them on things that other people just don't understand. I was able to let them know that they can live a full life; that they can go to college, have a family, drive a car and travel the world. I later realized there was a greater need outside of my workplace. I started to go to the hospitals and rehabilitation centers to support individuals with spinal cord injuries. This by far has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’ve enjoyed helping so many families already receive the benefits that they deserve without the hassle.

What I enjoy most about what I do is the fact that I get to help and advocate for families. Each phone call that I receive from someone saying thank you for helping me save my benefits; thank you for guiding me through this process; thank you for encouraging me to follow my dreams, despite having a disability. I love to be able to help make others’ lives a little bit easier and to help them feel good about themselves.
