as I did. That's expected, but it's important that you get back out in the community as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more difficult it becomes.

Unlike me, you have more advanced technology, home-based community services, work incentive programs, transportation, and greater access to programs, services, and facilities. It's important that you take full advantage of all of those opportunities. More importantly, if something falls short, it's important that you speak out. Without advocates speaking out, these services would not be available.

After my injury, if someone had told me that I would be a college graduate, homeowner, and full-time employee that pays his own bills, I would have smiled and said to myself, "This person is quite optimistic." Fact is, it happened, and yes, nothing worth having is easy. You just have to keep moving forward, remain healthy, and learn to manage life with all the things it will throw at you!
