3. What does your internship at Ability360 entail? (What do you do daily at your internship?)

I am having a lot of meetings with different areas around the Ability360 Sports and Fitness Center and also meetings with people from the Independent Living Movement Campus. Also, I’m given the opportunity to practice all different kind of adaptive sports, such as adaptive golfing, power soccer, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair paddle, etc. And during my time at Ability360, I have been working on my Action Plan which I will be presenting next week in Washington, D.C. to the GSMP (Global Sport Mentoring Program) staff and people from the Department Of State.

4. What have you learned so far at your internship?

- A lot of things, mainly about process on how to run different areas

- How to include or to approach my community

- How to be more efficient to raise money thru government or private sector

- Think out of the box and include more activities to our sports programs

- Run volunteer programs

- Operative skills

5. Has your experience here given you any ideas on what to take back to Mexico? If so, what are those ideas?

Of course.

- Social events, such as breakfast to present our nonprofit to potential sponsors

- Different activities; approach hospitals and schools to provide them our information so they know what we are doing

- Benefit packages to our sponsors

- Benefits and certifications to our volunteers
