WHEEL WORLD NEWS

-Shannon Carter

Message from the Executive Director,

Welcome to the November edition of Wheel World News! I can't believe we are already approaching the holiday season. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful here at the AZSCIA.

This month, our Spotlight Story is all about our Fall/Winter Series of Living Healthy with SCI. For the first class, we have Annette Zaccari coming in to hold an open discussion about coping with the upcoming holiday season. You won't want to miss this class, read more about it on pages 2-3. If you are wanting to become more involved this month in the SCI community, there are plenty of events happening this month that could help you with that. Read about all the upcoming events happening this November in the Current Events section on pages 4-6. For this month’s “Consumer Corner” segment, we are highlighting Heather Grossman, a survivor of domestic violence. She also just released her own book, "Paralyzed in Paradise" that goes into more depth of her life story. Read her personal story on pages 10-12. Our featured professional in our "Professional Profile" segment is Jenny Nordine who works for Driving to Independence. Visit pages 13-15 to read more about who she is and what she contributes to the SCI

community. Throughout this edition of Wheel World News, there are various articles that are great reads, we hope you enjoy!

Our newsletter is for you, our community. We would love to hear how you think we could improve, change, or add to our newsletter.

Are there topics you would like more information about? Are there activities you would like to know more about? What kind of stories do you enjoy reading about? Do you have an idea about a story we could cover? Would you like to share your personal story in our Consumer Corner? We are interested in anything you would like to share or comment on so please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].

As always, thank you to everyone who supports the Association throughout the year, we truly appreciate each and every one of you!
