Rehabilitation Unit at Barrow’s. This position allows me to serve as a contact person for continuum of care questions current patients and/or family may have at any time. Aside from my job, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, hiking, and reading.

My contribution to the community includes serving as Captain of Water Intake at Day on the Lake. Water Intake is responsible for water testing the participants before they enjoy a day of adaptive water skiing, jet skiing, or surfing. Over the years I have also volunteered at events where individuals in the community can ask physical and occupational therapists questions regarding seating equipment and home exercise programs. Finally, I have also assisted with advanced wheelchair skills classes in the community.

Working within the spinal cord community has greatly enriched my life. It is very rewarding seeing former patients of mine become active in the community and living life to the fullest. I love seeing individuals at Day on the Lake getting back to hobbies that they thought were no longer possible. I also enjoy watching familiar faces playing in wheelchair rugby and basketball tournaments. What I enjoy most about working within the community is having the opportunity to meet so many great individuals, many who made lasting impressions and whom I now call friends.
