Message from the Executive Director,
Welcome to the May edition of Wheel World News! It is finally summer time which means there are many summertime activities to take part in.
Our Spotlight Story this month is about our upcoming Living Healthy with SCI class: Art in Action! We are taking a break from the classroom and taking a field trip to the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts on June 22nd, 2018. Participants will be able to experience the museums' summer exhibit showcase as well as an art project after the guided tour. To read more about this upcoming Living Healthy with SCI class, please read pages 2-3. There are many summer activities happening within the community this month as well. To see all the current events happening this month, please visit pages 4-5.
This month for our "Consumer Corner" segment, we are highlighting Corbin Beu. Be sure to check out pages 8-9 to read his personal story. We have a new section in our newsletter, "Professional Profile", where we will be highlighting a different professional that works within the SCI community. Maribeth Hirte from Rehab Without Walls is our professional for May. Be sure to read how she contributes to the community on pages 10-11.
