Casper, WY in 1978 and played and managed the team until 1986 when we did not have enough players to continue. That was part of my decision to move to Mesa, AZ to play basketball and have a more accessible environment to live in. 1987 was the beginning of the Phoenix Banner Wheelchair Suns. I played, coached, and managed this program until 2016 when I retired.

In AZ, I went back to school and graduated from ASU in 1992. Then working for Good Samaritan Rehab, (Banner Health) doing accessibility evaluations and job accessibility under Title 1 of the ADA. Following Banner, I went to ASU and worked with students with disabilities in best employment practices for persons with disabilities. Again, working for myself doing accessibility survey site evaluations, job analysis, ergonomic work station evaluation. Also doing company sensitivity training about disabilities and accommodations to comply with the ADA and expert witness for wrongful employee discharge under the ADA.

Some of my best friends and experiences have come after my injury. That is when I truly came to the meaning of family. My personal family and this community. There are many who have left us and I do miss working with them, meeting for lunch or just picking up the phone to chat. Till we meet again!
