How has working within the disability community (specifically the spinal cord injury community) enriched your life personally?

I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing individuals who have sustained or acquired a spinal cord injury. Many of these individuals have become friends with whom I still see and communicate with. So many of them have an incredible outlook on life and have not let their spinal cord injury define them. This has shown me to approach situations with an open mind and heart.

What have you learned from working within the disability community and what do you enjoy most about it?

What I have learned in my 23 years as a Rec Therapist and 8 years as an Adaptive Driving Evaluator is those living with disabilities are very resilient, and can accomplish anything they want too.
