Message from the Executive Director,
Welcome to the December edition of Wheel World News. It's finally the holiday season! Though this is a busy time of year for everyone, be sure you stay involved in the events going on within the community this month.
Inside this newsletter, you will find some great ways to get involved this holiday season. On page 2, you will find our Spotlight Story: Thing to come in 2018. AZSCIA has been working hard to make our 3rd Annual Push Forward Conference the best one yet. Also, we have been planning more educational classes for our Spring 2018 Living Healthy with SCI series. Let's make 2018 a great year! Since it's the holiday season, we will not be holding a Living Healthy with SCI this month. We will be holding the next class January 25th 2018; "Eating to Thrive, Not Just Survive" with Marian Mitchell. You don't want to miss out on this class. We hope you'll join us! There are many more events to participate in this month. Be sure to check out the upcoming events under our current event section on pages 4-6. We have some equipment for sale so be sure to check those items out on page 7. This month, we are highlighting Doug White in our “Consumer Corner” segment. You won't want to miss out on reading his empowering story on pages 8-11. Also, be sure to read our new “Meet the Board” segment. This month we are highlighting board member, Maria DeNicola. You can read about Maria and why she volunteers to serve on AZSCIA’s board of directors on pages 22-23. We strive to help the SCI community as best as possible. Please feel free to leave us any comments on how we could improve. As always, it is a pleasure serving this community!
