Cinema and TV BELGIUM Intouchables By Eleonora and Sabine Intouchables is a French film directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, released in France on November 2, 2011. The story is inspired by the life of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, a quadriplegic since 1993, and his relationship with Yasmin Abdel Sellou his domestic help, whose roles are played respectively by the actors Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy. With 19.4 to 21,400,000 entries “intouchables” is the second largest French success in the history of the box office. The film became in 2012 the French film that has been the most seen outside France and have dethroned “The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain” who held the title for nearly ten years. For his role in this film, Omar Sy won the César Award for Best Actor in 2012. This film tell the story of Driss who’s released after six months’ imprisonment. He finds his neighborhood, his friends and family, but his aunt don’t let him live in her house anymore. It has two work refusals and decides to attend a final interview with Philippe, a rich aristocrat who became a quadriplegic after an accident. So he committed Driss as home help. In short, the person least suited for the job. Two worlds will tame to give birth to a friendship as crazy, funny and sharp, unexpected, a unique relationship that will spark and make them? Untouchable. Gradually the two men get to know. They become friends and discover the world of each and share intimate moments. Driss discovers that he is able to help people other than stealing or dealant … It happens to revive Philippe making him forget his illness and making him realize that he can again feel the love and feelings.
