Christmas in Greece

In Greece,Christmas is one of the biggest
religious holiday.Across the country the
children wander around from house to
house in order to sing the Christmas
carols on Christmas Eve,on New Year’s
Eve and Epiphany Eve.
Epiphany is a celebration where we
celabrate the Baptism of Jesus.In
Epiphany the waters become blessed by
throwing a cross in the sea and after that
some people jump in the water to catch
the cross.
Gift Exchange!
Is one of the most important tradition on
Christmas Eve.Especially for children
because in Christmas season they take
many
presents
from
their
parents,relatives and from the Santa
Claus!
Christmas Decoration!
The main tradition, is the decoration of a
Christmas tree, the Crib depiction,the star
of Bethlehem,the Christmas boat and the
Christmas lights!In Greece the first
Christmas tree was decorated in the royal
palaces when Othonas was king.
