Manneken Pis
by Gerson and Sabri
Hello everyone, today we present you one
of the iconic characters of Brussels
Manneken Pis .
We will present as 4 legends in its history
…
Once upon a time , in
Brussels , at the corner
of Oak Street and the
street of the oven ,
lived a wicked woman
who was a witch. A boy
urine against his door.
To avenge the wicked
woman casts a spell on
him : – ” Thou shalt
the same for centuries.
” A man lifted the boy ,
put in its place a stone
statue, thereby
transferring the curse
on the little guy stone
and all ends well for
small graçon.FIN .
His story continues with the following
caption : In the Middle Ages, the Bishop
of Arras live with the Lord of Brussels ,
which is sad not to have children . The
bishop asks the couple on the field a big
boy urinating on the beard of the bishop.
Lord falls Gudule . It tells him : – ” For
your punishment , your son will cease to
grow and will not stop to urinate. ” She
escapes to the Lord by letting sink into
the earth. Moral of the story , always
think before you ask something.
We find our little boy some time later in a
happy family : mother, father, a boy of
four years. They go to
a party , the boy lost in
the crowd . Parents
seek for four days.
Mother Mary promised
a statue of his son in
the state where it
would be found. The
father found at the
corner of Oak and oven
in the position you
guess . The mother
keeps his promise .
To finish our story , the
little boy found after
the war. The Brussels
are besieged . So that
they resist their
enemies must withdraw
and organize a big
party. Before retiring ,
the enemy had put a big powder keg with
a lit fuse. A little boy off the bit with what
he has on hand, so to speak , her pee .
So he saved Belgium.
He lived happy, does not necessarily have
had many children but it remains in our
history.
