The Convoy for Charity
made its way to Melbourne
to board the new Spirit of
Tasmania. What an amazing
trip. The Spirit of Tasmania
has had a complete refit and
is just so good. After going
through a customs and
safety check to make sure
that we had turned all gas
off in our caravans and were
not carrying food, we
queued to board. It is a
fabulous experienced to
board, it is so ordered and
works really well.
There is a range of cabins,
from Deluxe Cabins to inside
cabins with bunk beds. All of
them a super comfortable,
with an en-suite, and a good
night’s sleep beckoned.
The Spirit
of Tasmania
Home for the night!
And a recliner lounge area
with an unbelievable view
for those who want to sit up
Once our group had found
their beds for the night,
they set about finding plenty
of things to keep them out
of their beds. And they did
not have to look too hard.
There are two cinemas,
a tourism hub and a
quiet reading room.

The kids amongst our
group had a great time in
the Games Zone. There are
three bars to choose from
and two main eating areas.
The food is amazing and
it was hard to choose
what to have.
Just when you think it is
time to find that cabin and
get some sleep, there is one
more area with high quality
live entertainment.
Midnight came very quickly
and bit by bit we straggled
off to get some sleep.
5.30am and everyone is
awake. No-one needed to
set an alarm, the ship does
it for you. A quick breakfast,
into our vehicles and we
were called off the Spirit
of Tasmania by the well
experienced crew.
