FEATURED FAN ART
Viola White
My name is Viola White, and I'm a Hungarian
-born illustrator. I started drawing at an early
age, before my first year at elementary
school. At first, drawing was actually not my
favorite pastime, but later on it grew to be
one of my most important passions.
I first earned a reputation
for my graphic art designs, as well as for my
black and white drawings,
and later I moved on to
experiment with colorful
paintings, too. The techniques I apply in my artwork do not only depend
on the mood I am in, but
also on the theme and the size of the work of
art I am supposed to produce.
I enjoy making illustrations for books, for children’s books in particular, but human portraits
are my absolute favorite. More often than not,
I choose a model whose
appearance or personality is appealing to me.
I often draw or paint celebrities, and I'm also
happy to do children’s
portraits.

I have been told many times that the model’s
soul is also depicted in my portraits, and you
can almost sense the model's personality. It
has always been a challenge for me how to
convey human emotions, and I could not
agree more with the saying that ‘the eyes are
windows to the soul'. I
think it is especially true
in Michael Jackson's
case: his eyes are just
as telling as his whole
being.
I remember when I was
a little girl, I found him
too impulsive, too wild,
but later on my opinion
changed, as I learnt more about him. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to meet him
person.
The first surprising experience I had in connection with him was when I heard him
laughing with abandon. There was a kind of
childlike charm in his laugh, which I think is
rare in adults. I really love the way he laughs
and smiles.
