REMEMBERING DARRYL PANDY
December 24, 1962-June 10, 2011
Chicago native vocalist Darryl Pandy was at forefront of the house music movement when the sound crossed over the
Chicago city borders to the UK and European audience in 1986. Farley "Jackmaster" Funk,Jesse Saunders, Duane
Buford & Vince Lawrence brought in Pandy to lay down the vocals to "Love Can't Turn Around" that became a US
commercial success and made the Chicago house sound and house music as we know it today a widespread phenomenon. Darryl’s range with gospel squalls and hitting those glass shattering notes put him in a class of house music
royalty. . The rest is dance music history.
