The Baton Twirling competition team - Christiana Selby, Sierra Foster, Lakeisha Bataille, Muskan Singh and Shayla Morton, won two 1st places awards in the categories of Senior Twirl Team & Senior Twirl and Dance at the Open NBTA Contest held on March 4. This is only the third year in a row that Union twirlers have ever attended this organization which is judged by nationally accredited judges. The winnings from this competition is extra special because 4 out of the 5 twirlers have less than a year experience on the competition team, as well as the fact that novice performers with little experience are competing against trained dancers and well known organizations.
