Washington School

Washington School Students we’re visited by some special guests for their annual “Special Friends and Relatives Day.”

The student council at WES raised money for help save the sea turtles. Student council member, Elia Titmas researched the cause and decided to create a fundraiser hosted by the SC. Each child that donated money had their name posted on a turtle for display. With the money raised, we were able to adopt a turtle as well as help the other turtles return to health with the hope that they can be released back into the sea.

Fourth Grade Gifted and Talented Students competed for the top spot in their annual Entrepreneurial Business Challenge. Congratulations to the winning team who created the “Poop-Bot,” a device that automatically picks up after your dog! All of the teams presented well thought out and creative business plans. The winning team will now compete in the district wide challenge taking place on May 24th at Hannah Caldwell!
