HEART INSTITUTE twenty-five sub-specialties The Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado treats more cardiac patients than any hospital in our seven-state region. Our team of more than 30 pediatric cardiologists, three board-certified congenital cardiac surgeons, and eight cardiac anesthesiologists employs vast experience and innovative techniques to treating cardiac problems in patients ranging from newborn to adult. In collaboration with our world-class Colorado Fetal Care Center (see p. 34), our program leads the way in medical and surgical care of infants with complex congenital heart defects, many of which can be diagnosed in utero and treated immediately after birth.
