Skills & qualities
• Over 33 million people visited Leicester and
Leicestershire in 2016. The sector employs 28,800
people and includes bars and eateries, attractions and
accommodation. Several new hotels are planned for
the area.
• The global profile of the area has been raised by the
2015/16 Premier League Champions, Leicester City;
the discovery of the remains of King Richard III also
much helped with world news coverage. There is a
thriving King Richard III Visitor Centre.
