Many roles focus on care, others are based in labs but there are also support roles in admin, security and maintenance which are essential to the day-to-day running of the service. Skills & qualities • Health and social care is a large employment sector in Hertfordshire and the largest in the UK. It employs around 51,500 people in the county1. • The number of people working in private health rather than the NHS is growing. • The future?
