Remembering Casey I have a different mindset when it comes to hunting than I used to. I really don’t base the suc- cess on whether or not I kill something anymore. Without a doubt, I can say that I was perfectly hap- py just to spend a few days on the mountain with a great friend, making new memories and sharing old ones. We spent a lot of time talking about our friend, Casey, telling old hunting stories, and laughing about all the fun times we had in college. We even spent some time talking about what Casey would be saying if he were here with us. We knew how badly Casey would have wanted to be there with us, and I know that if he had been there, we would be talk- ing about three great bucks, not two. I don’t understand the ways of the world, and I don’t think I ever will. Still, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that we had a little extra help from a good friend on this hunt.
