FOUR ❖ STARTERS JAIRUS COLLINS HOUSE 1. Alabama coal operator Jairus Collins built this home around 1900 as an investment property while he was awaiting completion of his own home. When Collins moved, the home, located in what is known as "Doctor's Row," was occupied by a coal company physician, one of seven who lived on that street. Among the features of the home are the original hand-carved staircase banisters and a unique fireplace. A local artisan has added stained glass windows in recent years. DROOP MOUNTAIN BATTLEFIELD STATE PARK, P was the site of the last major conflict of the Civ and is part of the Civil War Discovery Trail wh sites in 16 states.
