West Virginia Executive Spring 2019 | Page 8

uinn ' s uill During a recent conversation with my dear friend and colleague, Bryan Boyd of Bryan Boyd Creative Group, he suggested that my daughter, Quinn, should give an update as to what she has been up to in the past year. It was in the Spring 2018 issue of West Virginia Executive that I first introduced Quinn to our readers, and since then she has already had some great West Virginia adventures to tell you about. ~Kensie Being born a West Virginia girl has been great so far! Since my mommy travels a lot and I have a great nonna and poppa who will help Mommy on the road, I get to tag along and see a lot of my home state. Mommy talks about how great West Virginia is all the time, and I got to experience some of that in my first year. My first overnight trip was to The Greenbrier for the West Virginia State Medical Association summit when I was four months old, and while there, I got to go swimming for the first time with Aunt Brett. That same weekend I explored Lake Sherwood in Greenbrier County with Daddy’s family during their annual family camping trip. The following week we were back at The Greenbrier for the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting and Business Summit, where I got to meet a lot of Mommy’s friends. In September, I got to go on the company retreat as Executive Ink’s youngest employee. We spent the weekend at The Resort at Glade Springs, and I even got to do my first escape room. I celebrated my half birthday with a family trip to Uncle Joe Deacon’s house in Ocean Isle Beach and loved falling asleep 6 WEST VIRGINIA EXECUTIVE to the sounds of the waves. When we got home, I went to the Pumpkin Festival in Milton, WV, with my friends, and for Halloween I dressed up like an owl. Things were pretty quiet for a while after that. I spent time with Mommy and the Executive Ink girls at the office. Mommy tries to keep me quiet when she has conference calls—some- times I listen. Thanksgiving and Christmas were a lot of fun—except when they took me to see the scary guy in the red suit. I enjoyed my first big snow and partied the night away for News Year’s Eve. We also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, which is a big deal with a name like mine. I turned a year old on March 30th and had a blast celebrating with my first cake. I plan to see more of West Virginia with my family in the next year, and I hope you all get out to enjoy the state too!  Until next time, Quinn Nicole
