Benchmark is a full-service envi-
ronmental consulting, health and
safety (EH&S) firm located in Fair-
mont, WV. The company opened its
doors on January 3, 2017, after a group
of like-minded professionals saw a
need and an opportunity to provide
the area with exemplary consulting
services in workplace safety, envi-
ronmental compliance, industrial
hygiene sampling and developing and
delivering EH&S training.
“Our vision, mission and goals have
the common thread of ensuring im-
provement to worker safety, health
and environmental impact through
compliance assistance and best-avail-
able EH&S practices,” says Kimberly
Murphy, CSP, MS, a member of the
Benchmark team. “Our energy partners
include oil and gas and service compa-
nies as well as power-generating facili-
ties. We provide the energy sector with
both general industry and construc-
tion industry expertise to meet its
EH&S needs.”
While the company serves a variety
of industries in West Virginia, Pennsyl-
vania, Ohio, Maryland and Virginia,
every member of the Benchmark team
calls the Mountain State home.
“We are all well-established West
Virginia professionals who have roots
in local communities and businesses,”
says Benchmark team member Mike
Haynes, MS. “We recognized the need
for our services. West Virginia provides
client diversity, which is a strong factor
in our business plan. The diverse clien-
tele requires us to continually improve
and grow professionally. We foster
professional development of all team
members to ensure our clients’ needs
are met and hopefully exceeded.”
Collectively, the Benchmark team has
more than 100 years of experience,
which it utilizes to honor its com-
mitment to its clients. “One of the
guiding principles of our company
is to view our clients as partners,” says
Benchmark’s Dan Arnold. “We succeed
when our clients succeed.”
